WELCOME

Garden State Rocks is one of the Northeast’s most experienced and venerable climbing gyms. Our air conditioned facility features both top-rope and lead walls (between 25 and 30 feet tall), a spectacular bouldering island, and a unique cave complete with a Tension Board. The more than 6,000 sq. ft. of climbing surface includes vertical and overhung terrain with roofs, arêtes, and slabs with a realistic crack.

The authentic, rock-like bouldering structure, built by Eldorado Wall Company, is surrounded by crash pads and padded carpeting. The pro-shop has harnesses and shoes for sale and rent at reasonable rates.

Lets Talk Climbing

Rope Climbing

Rope climbing is what most people think of when they think of rock climbing. The climber scales the wall with the aid of some rope and a harness. This will require a belay certified partner to keep you safe while you climb up the wall. If no one in your group is belay certified, don't worry! We have staff who would be happy to do this for you. Our rope walls are 25'-30', so if height is not your thing, you may want to consider trying bouldering first. We also have two auto-belay stations that can be used without a belay certified partner.

Bouldering

Bouldering is a great introduction to climbing. Since you will not be climbing as high as you would on the rope walls, no rope or harness is needed. This means you don't need anyone who is belay certified. Instead of relying on rope to protect you in the event of a fall, here you will have a pad to cushion your landing. Our bouldering walls are 8'-15' high.

STAFF LEAD PRIVATE BELAY

Our staff lead Private Belays are 1 to 1.5 hour sessions, based on the number of climbers, with a qualified instructor who will manage the ropes, tie the knots, and manage the safety of the climbers. This program is a great introduction to climbing for anyone ages 5 to adult. Bookings can only be made over the phone or by email.

3 FOR $25

Not sure if your child will climb for the full hour? We offer a shorter program for kids to gauge their interest in climbing. With our 3 for $25 program you pay $25 for 3 climbs with a staff member. This program is great for young, first time climbers to experience rock climbing without committing to a full hour program.

DAY PASS

Don't need staff to belay you or just interested in bouldering? Pick up a day pass and enjoy everything our facility has to offer. Enjoy some rope climbing, jump on the treadmill, take a break and play some board games/video games, or get in a bouldering session. The choice is yours.
